The Goucher Gophers finished their season strong, with a 6th place showing at the IHSA National Championships in Harrisburg, PA. Nearly 500 riding programs compete all year long for the coveted 16 spots at the IHSA National Championships to compete for the Collegiate Cup.
Junior captain Joey Fink led the charge, winning the 2014 Collegiate Cup Open Equitation. He also placed 5th in Individual Open Equitation Over Fences, and 6th in Individual Open Equitation. Sophomore Anna Carmichael place fifth in the Collegiate Cup Novice Equitation Over fences, and 9th in the Collegiate Cup Novice Equitation. Freshman Sarah Lummis placed 7th in the Collegiate Cup Advanced Walk Trot Canter division, and senior Kaili Janette placed 9th in the Collegiate Cup Walk Trot. Sophomore Ashley Bent won an Intercollegiate Equestrian Foundation Scholarship, and Fink won an EQUUS scholarship. Successful weekend for the Gophers!
