A Winning Tradition

Sarah Lummis placed 2nd at the IHSA National Horse Show in Collegiate Cup Walk, Trot, Canter.
Gophers Place 7th at IHSA National Championships

The Gophers traveled to Springfield, Massachusetts, at the end of April for the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Finals, and left with their fourth consecutive top 10 ranking in the country. The IHSA is the country’s largest organization for intercollegiate equestrian competition.  Out of the nation’s more than 400 competing riding teams—which include NCAA Division I, II, and III colleges and universities—the top two seated schools from each of eight zones earn a trip to National Finals.
Goucher students competed throughout the year, and earned spots to compete at Nationals in both team and individual divisions.  Goucher’s National team was comprised of Joey Fink, Alison Radgowski, Anna Carmichael, Sarah Lummis, and Joel Brandis. Joey Fink, Laura Malone, and Ashley Bent competed as individuals.  After a long week of competing, the Gophers pulled another top 10 finish by placing 7th overall. This is Goucher’s fourth consecutive year of finishing in the top 10 in the country.
