The Goucher Equestrian Team traveled to Fredericksburg, VA this weekend to compete in the Winter Classic Tournament of Champions. The gophers placed 9th out of 20 teams, receiving a 5th place overall finish for the Tournament Series.
The Tournament series are structured like a regular IHSA horse show, but do not count toward the regular season point standings. College teams gather at the Tournaments to get a taste of how they will stack up against the most competitive IHSA teams.
Freshman Joey Fink led the gophers with a 1st place finish in Novice flat, and Junior Karli Postel won a 2nd place in Open fences. Other highlights include:
Addie Jabin - 5th Intermediate fences, 6th Intermediate flat
Joey Fink - 6th Novice fences
Callie Hodge - 6th Advanced Walk Trot Canter

Goucher riders will return to Mary Washington for the next regular season IHSA horse show on February 18 & 19.
