Gophers lengthen lead!!!

   The Goucher Varsity Equestrian Team competed last weekend at Towson University for the last IHSA show of the fall semester.  Final team standings at the show were (1) Randolph Macon College, 38 points (2) Goucher, 35 points  (3) Mary Washington & Christopher Newport, 27 points.

INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS:
Karli Postel - 1st Open fences, 2nd Open flat - HIGH POINT RIDER
Joey Fink - 2nd Intermediate Flat
Anna Carmichael - 2nd Novice fences
Caroline Lurie - 1st Novice flat
Gabby Weber - 2nd Walk Trot

   Several members of the Goucher Equestrian team also qualified for Regionals during Fall semester.  Those individuals are:

Karli Postel - Open flat & fences

Joey Fink - Novice flat

Maddie Tidwell - Walk Trot

The Gophers will compete again on February 10th at the University of Maryland, College Park.  GO GOPHERS!!

Goucher gets 18-point lead over rival Mary Washington!

   The Goucher Varsity Equestrian team came out of last weekend's double header in Virginia with a 9 point lead over Christopher Newport University, and a whopping 18-point lead over rival Mary Washington.
       Goucher competing in back-to-back Intercollegiate shows at Christopher Newport and College of William and Mary this weekend respectively.  Senior Karli Postel and Freshman Anna Carmichael tied for high point rider with two blues in Open and Novice respectively.
        The gophers finished the weekend with 157 points overall.

      Highlights from Saturday at Christopher Newport included:

Karli Postel - 2nd place Open fences, 2nd place Open flat

Laura Adriaanse - 1st place Advanced Walk Trot Canter

Erika Scott - 1st place Advanced Walk Trot Canter

   Highlights from Sunday at College of William & Mary included:

Karli Postel - 1st place Open fences, 1st place Open flat

Hayley Cohen - 2nd place Intermediate flat

Joey Fink - 1st place Novice flat

Anna Carmichael - 1st place Novice flat, 1st place Novice fences

Maring Eberlein - 2nd place Beginning Walk Trot Canter

The team will compete next weekend at Towson University on November 10.  Results to come!
